Digital Education for Domestic Workers

3 training courses in major Italian cities and a free online guide

Supporting migrants employed in domestic and care work

THE PROJECT

The project Digital Education for Domestic Workers, promoted by Api-Colf and Fondazione Migrantes, aims to strengthen the citizenship rights of foreign domestic and care workers by encouraging the informed use of digital tools and supporting greater autonomy in everyday and professional life.

The content will be disseminated through in-person training courses, multilingual informational materials distributed across API-Colf and Migrantes offices, and the use of digital media and multimedia tools.

Why is digital technology important in domestic work?

Domestic and care workers increasingly need to use digital tools to communicate, organize tasks, access services, and protect their rights. Knowing how to use these tools responsibly means working in a safer, more independent, and more professional way. This topic is addressed in training sessions held in major Italian cities and in a free digital guide, which includes practical advice and real-life examples.

PROMOTERS

Digital Education for Domestic Workers

A project by Api-Colf, with the support of Fondazione Migrantes and the 8×1000 contribution to the Catholic Church.

Api-Colf, founded in 1971, is the Christian Social Movement of Household Workers. It promotes the professionalization of domestic and care work, enhancing the values of humanity, responsibility, and qualification, with constant reference to freedom and dignity.

Fondazione Migrantes is a pastoral body of the Italian Episcopal Conference. Since 1987, it has supported the pastoral care of migrants, immigrants, and refugees, fostering a spirit of welcome within Christian communities and encouraging integration while respecting different cultures and identities.

Thanks to the 8×1000 contribution to the Catholic Church, every year thousands of projects are carried out in Italy and around the world to support those in need. Funds are used for charitable activities, community support, worship, and clergy sustenance.
